Funding to Hire Qualified Staff
Canada-Wide Employment Grant for Apparel and Textile Companies
The Apparel Career Focus program will contribute 50% up to $15,000 towards hiring a post-university or college graduate to work in their field of study. Eligible positions for funding include but are not limited to:
* information technology application (e-commerce, website development)
* industrial or mechanical engineering
* production machinery repair and maintenance
* production supervision and management (assistant)
* quality assurance
* design (e.g. using CAD)
* financing, accounting , retailing
Internships are to be no less than 30 hours per week for 3 months. Interns must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or granted refugee status, 30 years of age or younger and not receiving Employment Insurance benefits. Employers are expected to operate in the apparel/textile sector and have a nepotism policy in place. All internships must end March 31st, 2015.
