Grants up to $250,000
Support for Canadian Manufacturers
The Next Generation Advanced Manufacturing Capacity Building (NGen) program advertises grants of 50%* up to $250,000 for feasibility studies and pilot projects. Eligible expenses include:
- Salaries and Wages
- Sub-Contractor and Consultant Fees (up to 70% of total project costs)
- Equipment Purchases (up to 30% of total project costs)
- Facility Rentals
- Materials and Supplies
- Patent Filing and IP Protection (up to 10% of total project costs)
- Other Project-Related Costs
Activities must be undertaken and financed by 2 or more industry partners, including at least one Canadian manufacturing company with fewer than 500 employees and less than $1 billion annual revenue. No one partner may receive more than 70% of awarded funding. Projects must be completed by March 31, 2023.
*Although NGen advertises grant funding of 50%, approved applicants must pay a fee equal to 2.5% of total project costs, effectively reducing support to 47.5%. For example, partners investing $500,000 would be required to pay NGen $12,500 before receiving project funding of $250,000.
