Limited Funding Now Available For Hiring Geeks
Canada-Wide Grant for Hiring Information and Communication Technology Graduates
The ICT CareerConnect program will contribute up to $18,000 towards the hiring of post-secondary graduates for information and communication technology (ICT) work placements. Employers must offer full-time work terms of no less than 30 hours per week for a minimum of three months. Eligible placements include but are not limited to the following information-technology fields:
- Software & Hardware Engineering
- Software Testing
- Web Design & Development
- Database Administration
- Help Desk & Technical Support
- Computer Programming
- Project Management
- Network Support
- Technical Writing
- Graphic Design
Graduates must be under 30 years of age, unemployed, not receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, and have Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee status. Work placements must be completed by February 27, 2015. Please note that in Ontario, food processors are not eligible for funding but can apply for similar funding through another program. Positions are limited and INAC Services urges employers to apply as soon as possible.
